René Kenosi is a founding member of Fraudsmiths (Pty) Ltd, a qualified Chartered Accountant, with over 30 years experience in Internal and External Audit, Governance, Compliance, Risk Management, Corporate Training, Management Consulting and Investigations.
Her prior employment experience includes her position at Bowman Gilfillan Inc as Executive Investigations and executive directorships at Fraudsmiths and Bridging Concepts Financial Services (Pty) Ltd. In addition she was also employed at SizweNtsaluba, Nedbank, Wheels of Africa, Ernst& Young, National Sorghum Breweries, Abbott Laboratories, UAL Merchant Bank and Gaddie Bros & Partners.
René has served as a non executive director on numerous boards in the following capacities:
- Anova Health Institute NPC: Board member, Chairperson – Audit & Risk Committee and Member – Social & Ethics Committee
- Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (“IRBA”): Chairperson (during 2nd term)
- Rand Water Board – Board member, Chairperson – Audit Committee, Member – Treasury and Risk Committees
- Small Enterprise Development Agency (“seda”) – Board member and Member – Audit and Risk Committee
In addition, she also served in capacity as either a Member or Chairperson on the Audit & Risk Committees of the National Consumer Commission, Department of Home Affairs, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality and its local municipalities, Services SETA, Local Government SETA, ICASA, Metrobus SOC Ltd, Metropolitan Trading Company SOC Ltd, South African Apex Fund, South African Council for Architects Profession, City of Matlosana, Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
During 2007 and 2014, René facilitated on a Municipal Development Program at the Wits Business School in modules relating to Risk Management, and Supply Chain Management. The program was a collaboration between National Treasury, Wits Business School and Local Government SETA and was aimed at ensuring that all municipal officials and political office bearers across the country were competent in roles.
